Application for Quantitative and Qualitative Control Waiver

The City of Baltimore Department of Public Works is accepting public review and comments on this project’s application for a waiver to the Baltimore City Stormwater Management Ordinance 10-277. The applicant must provide stormwater management for the proposed project whether or not the waiver is granted.

Applicant: Archbishop Curley High School, 3701 Sinclair Lane, Baltimore, MD 21213

Project Description: The project involves the conversion of a 2.3 acre grass field to a synthetic turf field in order to provide year round outdoor recreation opportunities for the students. The project meets the requirements of the 2010 Baltimore City Stormwater Management Ordinance through the use of an alternative surface and a sand filter.

The Applicant is requesting a Quantitative Control Waiver in accordance with Section 23-1(A) (2) of the City Code. The Applicant has demonstrated through engineering studies that the unmanaged 10-year and 100-year storm events for the proposed development will not increase existing peak discharges, cause erosion, flooding, or an adverse impact on the receiving waters or downstream stormwater conveyance system.

In addition, the Applicant is requesting a Qualitative Control Waiver in accordance Section 23-2(2) of the City Code.
