Less Waste, Better Baltimore Plan Presentations

In June, the project team hosted a virtual Community Meeting to review the Less Waste, Better Baltimore (LWBB) draft plan. Watch the meeting CharmTV or at CharmTV Online.

In November, the project team was asked to give a status overview of the Less Waste, Better Baltimore (LWBB) plan to both the Baltimore Commission on Sustainability and the Baltimore City Council. Read the update for more details and to view the presentation.

Task 5 Report Completed

The project team has completed the Task 5 report, “Potential Improvements to the Current Diversion/Recycling System.” The report documents potential options for the City to consider which, if implemented, would improve current waste diversion and recycling rates within the residential and commercial sectors. Task 7 Report Completed

The project team has completed the Task 7 report—“Managing What’s Left”—which documents potential options for the city to consider for the management of residual waste following the implementation of the waste diversion efforts identified in the Task 5 report. About the Plan

Baltimore City is currently conducting a master planning effort to identify options for improving solid waste diversion, recycling, and disposal in the City. We are committed to developing a master plan (the "Less Waste, Better Baltimore" plan) that outlines a clear and realistic future vision for improving the City’s solid waste recycling program and operations, over both the near- and long-term, with the goal of maximizing waste reduction, reuse/repair, recycling, and sustainable management of materials.
