DPW Offices, Sanitation Yards Closed on Christmas Day, Wednesday, Dec. 25

The Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) Director Khalil Zaied reminds residents that all DPW offices and sanitation yards will be CLOSED on Christmas Day, Wednesday, December 25, 2024.
During the Christmas Day closure, trash and recycling collection and street sweeping WILL NOT be conducted.
Trash/Recycling Makeup Day: Saturday, December 28.
DPW facilities closed on Christmas Day to residents and haulers include:
- Northwest Transfer Station, 5030 Reisterstown Road
- Quarantine Road Landfill, 6100 Quarantine Road
- Northwest Residential Recycling Center, 2840 Sisson Street
- Southwestern Residential Recycling Center, 701 Reedbird Avenue
- Eastern Residential Recycling Center, 6101 Bowleys Lane
DPW offers free Christmas tree mulching services to Baltimore City residents from Thursday, December 26, 2024, through Saturday, Feb. 1, 2025. Residents must bring their trees to the Sisson Street Residential Recycling Center from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
Before mulching, please remove all ornaments, tinsel, and other decorations from your tree. Residents should bring bags or containers to collect mulch for their use.
Instead of mulching, residents can place trees out with their weekly trash collections until Friday, Feb. 7, 2025. The trees must be placed at the exact location where your trash is collected. Before placing Christmas trees out for collection, please remove all ornaments, tinsel, and other decorations.
There will be no Christmas tree mulching or collection on New Year’s Day, Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2025.
The City's 311 call center is OPEN on Christmas Day and all other City-observed holidays. Service requests are accepted from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days a week, 365 days a year.
DPW reminds residents and water customers to report water and sewer emergencies to the City’s 311 call center. To report an emergency, such as a water main break, Baltimore City residents can dial 311, and Baltimore County residents can call (443) 263-2220. Requests can also be submitted online or through the Balt311 mobile app, available on Google Play for Android users or the Apple App Store for iOS users.
