BALTIMORE, MD — On Valentine’s Day, Baltimore citizens displayed their love for the environment, purchasing nearly 200 recycle bins during the February 14 bin sale at the Department of Public Works Eastern Citizens’ Convenience Center located on Bowleys Lane.

“I want to see recycling rates in Baltimore City continue to climb. This year the Department of Public Works is supporting citizens’ efforts to recycle by selling recycle bins at locations throughout the City,” said DPW Director Rudolph S. Chow, P.E.

Last year, DPW’s Bureau of Solid Waste collected 26,154.2 tons of recyclables, nearly a 5 percent increase over the 24,973.5 tons gathered in 2013.
