The Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) Director Khalil Zaied reminds residents that all DPW offices and sanitation yards will be CLOSED on Veterans Day, Monday, November 11, 2024.

Trash and recycling collection and street sweeping WILL NOT be conducted during this Veterans Day closure.  

DPW facilities closed on Veterans Day to residents and haulers include:

·Northwest Transfer Station, 5030 Reisterstown Road

·Quarantine Road Landfill, 6100 Quarantine Road

·Northwest Residential Drop-off Center, 2840 Sisson Street

·Southwestern Residential Drop-off Center, 701 Reedbird Avenue

·Eastern Residential Drop-off Center, 6101 Bowleys Lane

The City's 311 call center is OPEN on Veterans Day and all other City-observed holidays. Service requests are accepted from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days a week, 365 days a year.

DPW reminds residents and water customers to report water and sewer emergencies to the City’s 311 call center. To report an emergency, such as a water main break, Baltimore City residents can dial 311, and Baltimore County residents can call (443) 263-2220. Requests can also be submitted online or through the Balt311 mobile app, available on  Google Play for Android users or the Apple App Store for iOS users.

City of Baltimore Mobilizing to Address Severe Weather Impacts on Trash, Recycling, and Water Services

The Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW), in collaboration with the Department of Transportation (DOT), is working to address delays in trash and recycling collections caused by last week’s severe weather. With freezing temperatures, fluctuating weather conditions, and snowstorms impacting city operations, DPW and DOT have ramped up efforts to restore essential services to residents.

DPW to Host In-Person Community Meeting at the War Memorial

DPW will host an in-person community meeting on Wednesday, January 15, at the War Memorial Building at 101 N. Gay Street, Baltimore, MD 21202 (Lower Level), beginning at 6:00 PM. This event is the third in a series of community meetings designed to allow residents to provide feedback on the proposed water rate adjustments.
