Collection Delay Information

Collection/Service Delay

Update: Wednesday, January 15, 2025

The Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) is making steady progress in addressing missed trash and recycling collections caused by last week’s snowstorm. While significant strides have been made, additional work remains.

If your trash or recycling collection was missed, please call 311 to ensure your pickup is prioritized. Our crews are working diligently to complete regularly scheduled collections while also addressing missed pickups using service request (SR) lists.
Some residential alleys remain covered in ice, making them unsafe and inaccessible for solid waste crews.

DPW thanks residents for their understanding and cooperation as our crews work to restore normal operations while prioritizing safety.

How You Can Help
Residents are encouraged to call 311 to:

  • Report missed trash or recycling collections.
  • Report alleys that remain ice-covered.

Please keep your trash and recycling secured in containers with tight-fitting lids and leave them in place until collections can be completed.

If trash and/or recycling collections and other solid waste services are delayed by weather conditions or staffing operations, DPW will notify residents on this web page and on its social media platforms.
