Collection/Service Delay

Street Sweeping Suspeneded Thursday, Feb. 20

Page Updated Wednesday, February 19, 2025, 3:05 PM

Due to the anticipated winter weather, mechanical street sweeping is suspended on Thursday, February 20.

On Thursday, trash and recycling collection will continue as scheduled, but pickups may take longer than usual due to weather and safety precautions. If your pickup is missed, keep the lid on your bin and leave it out—we’ll get to it as soon as possible. If it hasn’t been collected by 5 PM, please call 311.

With frigid temperatures continuing, please take steps to protect your pipes from freezing:
Let faucets drip to keep water moving.
Open cabinet doors under sinks to allow warm air to circulate.
Insulate pipes in unheated areas like basements and garages.
Know how to shut off your water in case of a burst pipe.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we work through the winter weather!

How You Can Help:
Residents are encouraged to take the following steps:

  • Report missed trash or recycling collections by calling 311.
  • Report ice-covered alleys to help crews identify and address problem areas.
  • Keep your trash and recycling secured in containers with tight-fitting lids and leave them in place until collections are completed.

Thank you for your cooperation as we continue working to maintain essential services and keep our neighborhoods clean and safe!

If trash and/or recycling collections and other solid waste services are delayed by weather conditions or staffing operations, DPW will notify residents on this web page and on its social media platforms.
