Labor Day Holiday Notice

Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) Acting Director Matthew W. Garbark reminds citizens that Labor Day, Monday, September 7, is a City holiday. DPW offices and yards will be CLOSED.

Recycling Community Collection Centers will not be open on Labor Day.

Closed on Labor Day, Monday, September 7:

  • Recycling Community Collection Centers 
  • Northwest Citizens' Convenience Center, 2840 Sisson Street
  • Northwest Transfer Station, 5030 Reisterstown Road 
  • Quarantine Road Landfill Citizens’ Convenience Center, 6100 Quarantine Road. 
  • Southwestern Citizens’ Convenience Center, 701 Reedbird Ave.
  • Eastern Citizens’ Convenience Center, 6101 Bowleys Lane

SPECIAL NOTE: As part of the Solid Waste Continuity of Service Plan, the extended summer hours at the Sisson Street, Bowleys Lane and Reedbird Convenience Centers will remain in place beyond Labor Day in order for residents to have more time to drop off recycling.
