BIG TRUCK DAY has a new location and a new time: Saturday, May 11, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., at Rash Field in Baltimore’s beautiful Inner Harbor.  Rash Field is located at 201 Key Highway, at the foot of Federal Hill, and adjacent to the Maryland Science Center.

This is an immensely popular FREE event featuring vehicles from the Baltimore City Departments of Public Works, Transportation, General Services, Recreation and Parks, Police, and Fire, as well as private contractors.  Kid-friendly vehicle inspections, for kids of all ages, are encouraged. Touch and sit in trash trucks, dump trucks, street sweepers, vacuum vehicles and more. Honk the horns and blow the sirens!

These are the big trucks, cars, and four-wheelers that clean neighborhoods, repair roadways, and keep the City safe! They include “Big Bertha”, the City’s largest tow truck, along with lifts, bucket trucks, and rescue vehicles. Even some of the City’s boats will be on display!

This FREE, FUN, FAMILY day of activities includes face painting, henna tattoos, and balloon twisting. Kids will receive construction hats and vests to wear when inspecting the City’s Big Trucks.

Hang out with our Public Works Cartoon Characters, and dance as our Special Guest DJ plays your favorite music.

Have even more fun at the Kids Corner where you can make a special gift for Mother’s Day! The Fun Wagon, Light Painting, Game Truck, and Giveaways will all be there for you. Food Trucks will also be on site.

Parking is available on lots adjacent to Rash Field, which is also close to public transportation, and is on the Charm City Circulator’s Banner Route.

Big Truck Day is a rain or shine event. For additional information, contact DPW at 410-545-6541.
