Baltimore City Department of Public Works Releases 2021 Water Quality Report

Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) Director Jason W. Mitchell today announced that DPW has published its 2021 Water Quality Report. The report shows that the water DPW provides to residential and commercial customers continues to meet or exceed regulatory standards.

“A lot has changed throughout the Baltimore region since the arrival of the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the Baltimore City Department of Public Works’ ability to provide safe, high-quality drinking water has remained consistent,” said DPW Director Mitchell.

This annual report informs residents where the City’s drinking water comes from, what chemicals it contains, and how it meets federal standards for tap water.  

The report, also known as the Consumer Confidence Report, is available online for Baltimore City and County residents to review.

DPW continues to use electronic delivery to distribute its Water Quality Report. A message and a link appears on water bills directing customers to DPW’s most recent water quality report: publicworks.baltimorecity.gov/waterreport.

Printed copies are available upon request by calling 311 (for Baltimore City residents) or (410) 396-5352 (for Baltimore County residents).

Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) Director Khalil Zaied reminds residents that Friday, July 4, 2025, is Independence Day, a City holiday. As a result, all DPW offices and sanitation yards will be CLOSED in observance of the holiday. There will be no trash or recycling collections on Friday, July 4. Collections will resume on the makeup day, Saturday, July 5, 2025. Additionally, there will be no street sweeping due to the holiday closure.
