Department of Public Works Resumes Routine Trash and Recycling for Wednesday, February 3 All Drop-Off and Community Collection Centers Open

Today, Acting Director Matthew W. Garbark announced that the Department would resume routine trash and recycling collections tomorrow, Wednesday, February 3, 2021. Trash and recycling not collected on Tuesday, February 2, 2021, will be collected on Saturday, February 6, 2021.

“We are excited to get crews back on the streets to service the residents of Baltimore City,” said Acting Director Matthew W. Garbark. “We ask residents to be patient tomorrow as extreme freezing temperatures are expected overnight, which may delay some collections tomorrow.”

Acting Director Garbark also announced the opening of DPW’s Citizens’ Convenience Drop-Off Centers and Community Collection Centers on Wednesday, February 3, 2021.

  • Sisson Citizens’ Drop-Off Center (located at 2840 Sisson Street)
  • Reedbird Citizens’ Convenience Drop-Off Center (located at 701 Reedbird Avenue)
  • Bowleys Citizens’ Convenience Drop-Off Center (located at 6101 Bowleys Lane)
  • The Northwest Transfer Station (located at 5030 Reisterstown Road)
  • Quarantine Road Landfill (located at 6100 Quarantine Road)
  • 14 Community Collection Centers

Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) Director Khalil Zaied reminds residents that Friday, July 4, 2025, is Independence Day, a City holiday. As a result, all DPW offices and sanitation yards will be CLOSED in observance of the holiday. There will be no trash or recycling collections on Friday, July 4. Collections will resume on the makeup day, Saturday, July 5, 2025. Additionally, there will be no street sweeping due to the holiday closure.
