Cancelled: Oct. 15, 2016, Shred Day and Recycling Bin Sale

The Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) reminds citizens that the free paper shredding event and recycling bin sale scheduled for Saturday, October 15, 2016, has been cancelled.

This cancelled Discount Recycle Bin Sale and Paper Shredding event had been scheduled to take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Canton Waterfront Park, 3001 Boston St.

Recycling bins are available for purchase at the DPW Special Services, 111 Kane St., or call DPW’s Office of Recycling (410.396.4511) for other purchase locations.

Paper bags, cardboard or plastic boxes and trash cans, labeled “recycling,” are all acceptable containers. Please do not use plastic bags for recycling.

Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) Director Khalil Zaied reminds residents that Friday, July 4, 2025, is Independence Day, a City holiday. As a result, all DPW offices and sanitation yards will be CLOSED in observance of the holiday. There will be no trash or recycling collections on Friday, July 4. Collections will resume on the makeup day, Saturday, July 5, 2025. Additionally, there will be no street sweeping due to the holiday closure.

The Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) today announced the release of its 2024 Water Quality Report, providing residents in Baltimore City and Baltimore County with important information about the quality of their drinking water.
