DPW Reports Sanitary Overflow

BALTIMORE, MD - The Baltimore City Department of Public Works reports that a sanitary sewer overflow into the Jones Falls occurred yesterday and lasted for slightly over three hours before stopping about 1 p.m.
This sanitary sewer overflow is estimated to have exceeded 10,000 gallons, and entered the Jones Falls in the 1500 block of N. Charles Street. The cause was stormwater infiltration into the sanitary sewer main.
The stream has been posted with warning signs.
The Maryland Department of the Environment and the Baltimore City Health Department have been notified.
