BALTIMORE, MD - The Baltimore City Department of Public Works announced today that all regular trash and recycling collections, as well as mechanical street sweeping, will be back to normal schedules starting Tuesday, March 10.

"With the snow and ice continuing to thaw, DPW anticipates the return to typical trash and recycling collections and street sweeping schedules," said DPW Director Rudolph S. Chow, P.E. "We apologize to citizens who have experienced missed trash or recycling collections in recent days due to hazardous conditions in many of the City's alleyways."

On Monday, March 9, DPW Solid Waste crews will try to address as many of the outstanding service requests for missed trash and recycling as possible. The ability to complete routes will depend on whether the ice has thawed sufficiently for the alleys to be accessible.

Icy conditions the last couple of weeks made trash collection difficult and, in some instances, too dangerous for Solid Waste Crews to collect safely. Therefore, Solid Waste collections were suspended Thursday, March 5 due to the weather, and limited collections were made Friday, March 6 and Saturday, March 7.
