Water Main Break - Unit Block E. Redwood Street
Wednesday Jan 14th, 2015
January 14, 2015 (BALTIMORE, MD) — Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) Director Rudolph S. Chow, P.E., announced that emergency repairs on a 10-inch diameter broken water main will begin early this afternoon in the unit block of E. Redwood Street in Downtown Baltimore.
This break is causing water to enter the lower levels of at least two buildings. While sump pumps are controlling the water levels, it was determined that a delay in the repairs could cause flooding.
In order to do the repairs water service will be shut down early this afternoon and will result in no water to properties INSIDE the following footprint:
Charles Street on the west
Baltimore Street on the north
Light Street on the east
Lombard Street on the south
If there are no unforeseen obstacles it is hoped that water will be restored overnight.
Customers inside this footprint may contact 311 for updates.
