Harford Road Closed at Herring Run Bridge 20 Inch Water Main Break

The Harford Road Bridge over Herring Run has been temporarily closed to traffic  between Argonne Drive and Chesterfield Avenue. This is due to a water main break that has occurred under the deck of the bridge.  Harford Road is closed in both northbound and southbound directions.

Motorists should detour as far away from the bridge as possible to avoid backups and delays.

From Downtown it may be advisable to take Gay Street to Belair Road, or to consider Hillen Road and Perring Parkway, among many options. Do NOT wait to get near the bridge before you detour.

Motorists heading south should also NOT wait until they get close to the bridge before turning. Cold Spring Lane, Echodale Avenue, Northern Parkway, and Moravia Road are suggested E-W detours around the bridge.

DPW Offices and Sanitation Yards Closed for Independence Day

Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) Director Khalil Zaied reminds residents that Friday, July 4, 2025, is Independence Day, a City holiday. As a result, all DPW offices and sanitation yards will be CLOSED in observance of the holiday. There will be no trash or recycling collections on Friday, July 4. Collections will resume on the makeup day, Saturday, July 5, 2025. Additionally, there will be no street sweeping due to the holiday closure.

The Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) today announced the release of its 2024 Water Quality Report, providing residents in Baltimore City and Baltimore County with important information about the quality of their drinking water.
